Meeting room

Traditional communication – same time, same place

Our communication with one another is becoming ever more intensive and complex. Twenty or thirty years ago we might have made a few phone calls per day, had a few meetings per month at most, and written a few letters annually. Today we exchange dozens or even hundreds of message on a daily basis. Of course, it’s technology that makes it all possible.

Mobile phones have made it possible for people to attend important meetings despite being in different locations. On the one hand the mobile phone has given us greater freedom of movement, but on the other hand our free time and work day have become rolled into one. The computer, another technological phenomenon, has brought about a new revolution, particularly in combination with the mobile phone.

As a result of all these changes, an employee can be physically located almost anywhere whilst receiving, creating and sending highly complex materials or holding important meetings.

But for some situations, only traditional face-to-face communication will do. It’s more a question of energy than of the time and place where you do the work and hold the meeting, especially when important decisions need to be made and communicated, knowledge needs to be conveyed, when creative work needs to be done and a deeper exchange of information and energy facilitated. On those occasions we all need to be in the same place at the same time.

In addition to spaces where content is created, offices increasingly need places where content is exchanged.
